Garden of Lucy

Garden of Lucy (2013)
Installation
Calgary, Alberta
This piece travelled around Calgary for the month of December, 2013, and an installation piece. This piece confronts our growing social distance and uncomfortableness with the outdoors. The physical autonomy of children are especially compromised when considering this phenomenon. In news article about the generational decrease in the rights to roam for children we see that the children today have roaming autonomy of 300 yards compared to their great-grandparents who would travel up to six miles. In this piece the driver brings their natural world with them as they travel their morning commute around the city.
